Summer Olympics Paris, France
ONLY TIME
July 26 to August 11 - $A Lot…
I'm not gonna lie to you, it's too late to book a trip to Paris for the Olympics unless you have really deep pockets. It will be the most expensive time to be in Paris in a long time and for the foreseeable future. I mean this is literally the biggest worldwide sporting event and people knew about it years in advance. Paris has invested reportedly close to $10 Billion to prepare for this event. It is going to be an absolute spectacle. Just make sure to turn on the tube and flick to the channel (if you still pay for cable).

Yellowstone National Park USA
BEST TIME
May 01 to Sep 30 - $45
Yellowstone is a spectacular park with more geysers and hot springs than anywhere else in the world, large wildlife like buffalo herds, wolves and grizzly bears, and it sits atop a super volcano (if it were to erupt there would be mass destruction of a huge portion of the western US). One of its biggest attractions is Old Faithful, a geyser that erupts every 45-120 minutes. Pop a squat and wait to be amazed. It was America's first national park and is over 2.2million acres. The summer is best for wildlife viewing.

Canoeing/Kayaking in the Amazon
ACTIVITY JUNKIES
May 01 to Sep 30 - $950
There are tons of options anywhere from a short canoe to longer-than-a-week trips where you cover a lot of water (ground). Traveling the rainforest by its main artery gives you an interesting perspective and a great ability to engulf yourself entirely and just go with the flow of nature. 2nd only to the Nile in length, the Amazon River may by the most famous river and for good reason. It runs through the world biggest rainforest (by more than a factor of 2), it is the biggest river by volume, it can rise over 30 feet in rainy season, it is truly a spectacular natural feature of this Earth. The pricing is for a 5 day trip.

Yacht Week Croatia
ONLY TIME
Jul 01 to Aug 20 - $1,200
Dozens of 30-50ft boats take off each week and hop island to island making sure to party on and in between each one. Whether they are joining a bigger party on Hvar Island or just linking up the boats into a big circle and partying there, it's a constant fiesta along the prettiest of shorelines. Usually, you have to have a crew of friends and rent a boat together, but they also have a system called the yacht week crew finder where you can join another group or invite others to yours. There is little integration with the local culture or cuisine or architecture... but people don't go to yacht week to get cultured, they go to have fun.

Melbourne Australia
CHEAPEST TIME
Jun 01 to Aug 31 - $Varies
Known for great coffee, street art, museums, and their laneways. "Laneways" is a different name for their alleyways because unlike everywhere else in the world, they are a hub of activity. home to tons of bars, cafes, shops and more. Of all the people I've met abroad, I have to honestly say that Melburnians are top 3 most fun people to be around so if the people that stay in their city are as fun as the ones who leave, this is definitely a place I'd want to be. August is cheaper because of the colder temps and the rain (still mild).

Lighthouse Stay on a Remote Island UK
CHEAPEST TIME
Jun 01 to Aug 31 - $550
What's cooler than staying in a converted lighthouse on an little island (population 28) with your whole family (or a group of friends). Post up in the observation tower and enjoy the great 360-degree views from all glass walls while chillin’ in some beach chairs. There’s a church and some wildlife to view, but the main attraction for this island is just that: it's an island, and it's remained quite natural over the course of time.

Glacier Exploration Iceland
ACTIVITY JUNKIES
May 01 to Sep 30 - $110
There are a ton of different ways that you can explore these glaciers, all of which are super cool. Firstly, just hiking on these frozen beasts is an absolute mind-blowing experience. You can also go kayaking in the waters around it, you can go ice climbing up the steep cliffs, you can explore the bright blue ice caves, or you could do it all. I explored a glacier a few years back and it was a spectacular experience so I would highly recommend this to all of my adventurous readers. Honestly, the prices are pretty good in this link, they don’t seem extortionist to me, like most other tourist activities do.

Copenhagen Denmark
BEST TIME
Jun 01 to Aug 31 - $Varies
A super bike-able city with a rich history, architecture, museums, gardens and a special euro-Scandinavian charm. Check out the Copenhill, it's a super unique waste recycling plant that has been built into a sort of amusement park with a ski slope (green hill in the summer), climbing wall, and cafe. Summer is the best time to go because of the weather and liveliness of the city.

A mountain which is totally flat on the top, resembling, you guessed it: a table.
