The Seychelles

CHEAPEST TIME

May 01 to Sep 30

A tiny east African country, north of Madagascar, composed of 115 islands with gorgeous beaches, coral reefs and wildlife. It is quite an expensive place to travel due to importing 80% of their goods, so you can go during the quieter months if you want to squeeze down your budget. As this island group is unknown to many, this article on its safety was the top search result on google. It's also the smallest country in Africa.

Running of the Bulls Pamplona, Spain

ONLY TIME

Jul 06 to Jul 14

Y'all know what this is. A bunch of psychotic men and a few women try their chances against one of natures scariest, most muscular creatures with a few human skewers attached to their skulls. A sign of humanities free will, and our choices to take extreme risks for little to no reason. It's truly a one of a kind event. Jump if you want a massive hit of adrenaline, or just enjoy the spectacle from a balcony like a normal person. Check out the schedule here.

Christ the Redeemer Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

BEST TIME

May 01 to Sep 30

You all know what this is and why you'd go to see it so I'll just talk about why July is the best time for you to visit. Just like so many of my other recommendations, this time of year is best because of the weather, and all that it brings. July brings with it a surge in wildlife, and great cooler temperatures (70-80F / 21-26C) for the famous beaches.

Desert Astronomy Namib Desert, Namibia

ACTIVITY JUNKIES

Apr 01 to Sep 30

The Namib desert is home to an International Dark Sky Reserve where you can spend all night viewing the galaxy above the sand. In July it's not only great for the celestial bodies, but also the wildlife so you'll be able to spot a zebra during the day and a bull in the sky (Taurus). There are some really cool luxury tents and accommodations that this girl, Amelia, outlines in her blog.

Best Time

This time of year offers the best that this destination has to offer.

*Christ the Redeemer Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - May 01 to Sep 30 - Highlight above- Guide

Dublin Ireland - May 01 to Sep 30 - Go to the Guinness storehouse, or the Jameson Distillery, maybe check out the Irish whisky museum or Temple bar (the most famous strip of bars in Ireland) there's so much to see and do in Dublin... Sense a theme? All jokes aside, Dublin is a wonderful place for a visit all year round but in July the weather is great and the streets are busy. My girlfriend believes that September is the best time for Ireland because you can avoid the tourist crowd and the weather is perfect if you like a little bit of a chill. - Guide

Chichen Itza Yucatan, Mexico - Apr 01 to Oct 31 - One of the 7 Wonders of the World, one that I have had the luck to see already, Chichen Itza is one of many (4000+) Mayan ruins in Latin America. In July, the somewhat frequent rain and heat (~91F/33C) keep the crowds of tourists away which leaves you a good opportunity to visit a phenomenal piece of human history without the sea of phone cameras. You may even get the site more-or-less to yourself if you go early in the morning (early morning visits to popular tourist spots are a cheat code for more private experiences & much improved photos). Check out this article for the 16 best Mayan ruins to explore. - Fun Facts

Beekeeping Workshop Provence, France - Jun 01 to Jul 31 - Wanna learn to farm honey from the pro beekeepers out in rural France? You're in luck because they have all different types of experiences for you over there from 2 hour beewax candle making to 5 day beekeeping courses where you stay on the farm and everything is included. You'll be a pro in no time. Throw on that oversized ghostbuster suit and get swarmed by the yellow and black buzzers. The link is an article about how France became and maintain their spot as the best beekeepers in the world. - Article

Only Time

These are temporary events that you need to go during this travel window to experience.

*Running of the Bulls Pamplona, Spain - Jul 06 to Jul 14 - Highlighted above - Fun Facts

Tour de France France - Jun 29 to Jul 21 - For the first time in the history of this race, it will not end in Paris due to the ongoing preparations for the Olympics. This year it will come to an end on the southern coast in Nice, a very nice place to travel if I must say so myself. Prices might be inflated due to the most popular global bicycle race, but if you can secure yourself an Airbnb or something on the hillside, you will be rewarded with a spectacular view. - Guide

Naadam Festival Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia - Jul 11 to Jul 15 - Mongolia's biggest celebration, and most locally watched event, The Naadam festival starts with a long dance, a feast with special food & drink, and then the real fun starts: The Naadam festival is locally known as 'The Three Games of Men' (Translated) which consist of archery, wrestling, and horse racing. - Guide

MUSIC FESTIVALS

Montreux Jazz Festival Switzerland - Jul 05 to Jul 20 - One of the coolest festival locations I've seen, right on a lake in a beautiful park/commercial area with the stages built outside, and hosted in a casino. Every day there is a "traveling stage" for emerging artists where the location and the artist is announced spontaneously during the festival. There are 6 free stages and 5 paid stages, with a bunch of other free events too [Pool parties, silent discos, open air concerts, jam sessions, workshops and all-night electro events]. The Montreux Jazz fest is second only (in attendance) to the Montreal Jazz fest. - Official Website

Quebec City Summer Fest Canada - Jul 04 to Jul 14 - Huge music festival in Quebec City over 12 days with 100,000+ attendance each day. Headliners: Carly Rae Jepsen, Nickleback, 50 Cent, Jonas Brothers. - Full Lineup
