Feria de las Flores Medellín, Colombia

ONLY TIME

Aug 02 to Aug 11

Translation: Festival of the Flowers. I just missed this by a week in 2023 but I heard great things from the travelers that had been there for it. Medellin is an amazing city, and this event brings it to a new level. This festival is a 10-day long display of huge floral arrangements, parades and competitions throughout the city. Join in the city's celebration to engulf yourself in Columbian culture.

Tokyo Japan

CHEAPEST TIME

Jun 01 to Aug 31

A destination on most traveler's bucket-list but one that probably hasn't been crossed off due to the cost, not only of experiencing Japan, but also getting there. I can't help much with the cost of getting there (other than to recommend Skyscanner, being flexible with dates of travel, and using a VPN) but going in July/August will help with the cost of being there. It can get as humid as a rainforest, but the city is well equipped to deal with the heat and so there are many ways to escape it. There are also a lot of festivals that you should check out if you're planning a trip.

Watch Bears Hunt Salmon Alaska, USA

ACTIVITY JUNKIES

Jun 01 to Sep 20

Watch one of nature's scariest beasts feast in a spectacular fashion, catching large (in size & quantity) migrating salmon in Alaska. There are a couple popular spots, like Brook's falls, but there are also tour groups that will take you to more remote locations, so you aren't surrounded by other watching eyes. This is very seasonal of course, throughout the summer, so make sure to book your trip with that in mind.

Helsinki Finland

BEST TIME

Jun 01 to Aug 31

The capital of the happiest country in the world during its warmest months must be a great place to be if you like being surrounded by smiles. You only need to take 10 seconds to open a map and look at Helsinki to understand that this is not a normal city. It is hard to describe but it is like thick splatter paint of land on water so there is a ton of coastline and waterfront property. Jump into a unique Scandinavian culture if you want to see some cool modern architecture and art.

Sturgis Rally Buffalo Chip South Dekota, USA

ONLY TIME

Aug 02 to Aug 11

Quote straight from their official festival guide: "Out of respect for your fellow concert goers, please keep off your throttle until the song or concert has concluded."... Simply put, this is a festival for motorcycle riders, and a BIG one. They have big name musicians (rock, country, blues), motorcycle-based events (rides, races) & vendors, they have campgrounds for those that want to spend nights out there (it's 10 days long), and they have competitions of all sorts. Over half a million people attend the world’s biggest annual motorcycle rally. Fun Fact: in 2020, this single event generated 21% of the city's annual revenue.
